Sea Shanties 101 with Coco Raymond

Join the Cape Cod Maritime Museum for a general history of sea shanties! Learn about their origins, the histories of individual songs, and why they’re currently having a resurgence. Then there will be an opportunity to sing a few!
Coco Raymond is a fourteenth-generation Cape Codder, artist, and shantyman. The author of a dissertation on Cape politics and history, she has been heavily involved in housing justice, as well as cultural preservation work. When not working in the ceramics studio or singing, she enjoys fishing and shellfishing with her family.
