Please note this is the second of a three part workshop series. Students have the ability to sign up for an Individual Workshop or for the Entire Series at once by specifying “Shabott Barrett Series” at Registration. Full series also include 4 sessions to our renowned Chester I. Solomon Life Drawing.

Hofmann’s school created two generations of Abstract Expressionists. Bay Area Figurative Art was a direct reaction and rebellion to AbEx. This course begins with a lecture on this art movement by viewing the work of Joan Brown, David Parks and Manuel Neri, and others. Exercises with a model will show us the elements of the art movement through two and half hours of drawing and painting with a break for lunch. Each artist, no matter what their level of experience, will leave with a sense of celebration for the figure and color and how to bring that into your studio.

Class Fee: $140 for members, $150 for non members, $420 for full series
