Embrace your inner artist and draw inspiration from the beautiful gardens and grounds of Highfield!

Illustrator Eliza Renz will lead a series of exercises in drawing from nature, focusing on different areas of  Highfield Hall & Gardens. Explore the natural surroundings of Highfield’s grounds and find encouragement to make marks on your paper, and enjoy the process.  Many beautiful plants will be in bloom in May. This class is for people of all artistic abilities– don’t be shy!

Take a walk with Eliza Renz who has recently illustrated a children’s book called Meadow Vole. Eliza lives locally and enjoys time with her family. Her background includes International Relations, Communications, and specifically Graphic Design. She received her Masters in Elementary Education and enjoys subbing in the schools locally. Art has always been a huge component of her life as her great grandparents comprised a collection of art that they shared with their community in Glens Falls, NY. The Hyde Collection is a varied collection of European Masters and artworks spanning centuries. This collection and the images are what spurred her love of art. Her children are grown now so she finds joy in sharing her love of art with others.
