2nd Wednesday Theater: a monthly play-reading of rarely-performed classics, undiscovered gems, old chestnuts, and exciting new works. On June 12, we present Meteor Shower by Steve Martin.

On the night of a once-in-a-lifetime meteor shower, Corky and Norm have invited new acquaintances Gerald and Laura to watch it together at their home. However, Corky and Norm soon discover that Gerald and Laura are not exactly an average couple. Over the course of a crazy, starlit dinner party, the wildly unexpected occurs. The couples begin to parry, flirt and share their feelings. Soon preposterousness reigns — no surprise in a Steve Martin play – as Gerald and Laura make life terribly uncomfortable for Norm and Corky while the space-time fabric itself is stretched to its breaking point until a bizarre secret is revealed.

Join us on Wednesday, June 12, and you’ll see why NPR’s Kyle Smith wrote, “Imagine Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? rewritten by a French absurdist and you’ll have some inkling of what’s in store for you in Meteor Shower.”

Meteor Shower is presented by Jessica Ellis Wilson and WatermelonAlligator Theatre Company.
