Conceived especially for the Cotuit Center for the Arts, a collaboration between cellist Phoebe Carrai and poet Mary Maxwell.

A performance of movements from each of J. S. Bach’s Cello Suites, interspersed with the reading of a poetic series composed as verbal response to the great composer’s 18th-century music.

Seven movements form the backbone for thoughtful dialogue between four voices: J.S. Bach, the 1690 Italian cello on which the music is being played, Carrai and Maxwell.

Join us for this late-summer, late afternoon performance, where two contemporary Cape Codders soulfully engage with the Baroque past.
