There will be no class on April 25.
This class will focus on introducing students to throwing on the wheel. Students will learn each step of making a vessel, from preparing the clay to the final glaze firing. Explore the process of creating basic forms such as cylinders, bowls, and other vessels. Small class size allows for individualized instruction.
Eight additional studio hours are included in the course.
All materials and firings are included. Students can purchase their own set of tools for $12 plus tax from the Center or share studio tools.
Amy Bourbon
Amy began to explore working with clay during her freshman year at Nauset Reginal High School. During the first semester of wheel throwing classes, she knew almost immediately it was something she wanted to pursue. After high school, she moved to Boston to attend Massachusetts College of Art and Design where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art Ceramics. After college, she moved back to Cape Cod to open a retail shop with her sister where they sold their artwork, including Amy’s pottery and pen and ink drawings. After making the decision to close their store, Amy continued to work in her home studio. Her inspirations come from the colors, forms, and textures of the woods and ocean.
