This class is an exploration of surface design techniques for clay work. Whether you are a Hand Builder or Wheel Thrower, there are many exciting techniques for adding color and texture to your work. Our focus will be learning about and experimenting with several surface design methods, both traditional and nontraditional. Students do not need to have drawing skills. Ways of transferring imagery will be covered as well. Students do need to have a basic knowledge of working with clay. We will be making simple forms on which to try out the surface treatments.
