Stage Combat 101: Intro to Swordplay

Taught by Watermelon Alligator Theatre Company’s Garrett Olson and Jessica Ellis-Wilson, this exciting and fun course is a beginner’s introduction to stage combat with an emphasis on swordplay. Safety is our priority, as well as part of the curriculum.

Students will learn basic rapier technique which draws from western fencing and eastern disciplines. This class is a prerequisite to more advanced stage combat classes which will be offered in the future.

Please dress comfortably and be prepared to move! Protective eyewear will be provided and must be worn at all times. Pack a lunch and hydration (there is a fridge in the Art Studio). There will be a brief break midday. Price:$140 nonmembers/$119 members.
