As the season changes we have the opportunity to slow down and observe the fruitfulness of nature, creating paintings with reverence for the harvest.

In this workshop we will look at examples of still lifes (including originals in the PAAM collection!) to explore ways to express mood and intention through compositional and color choices. Christine will teach in oil, but students may use their medium of choice. Each day there will be either a color or compositional prompt. There will be a variety of objects, fruits and vegetables for still life set-ups. Students will walk away with an understanding of the use of color and composition to create mood in a still life painting. Students will work on a new painting each day, with the opportunity to stay and use the PAAM studio for an hour after each workshop session. The class is appropriate for artists at all levels of experience.
