Osprey – Egg Incubation, Chick Rearing, and Wild Fostering

In 2023, Stephanie Ellis, Executive Director of Wild Care, was tasked with incubating two sets of Osprey eggs, raising the chicks and finding them suitable wild foster nests. Two of the hatched Osprey chicks were placed right here into the Osprey nest at CCMNH! She will discuss this intensive process along with its successes and challenges. Stephanie will also touch upon the history of Osprey on Cape Cod – a true conservation success story, and the legalities involved in working with Osprey nests, eggs, and chicks.
