In this three-hour photo walk, Andy will guide you, both technically and aesthetically, in recognizing and photographing the unlimited visual possibilities that exist in the beautiful landscape surrounding the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. The beauty of Cape Cod is subtle and one must look closely to actually see this special place. Images can be found in the tracing of beach grass in the sand, the convolutions of a sandbar at low tide, or the gnarled branches of a tree forever bent by the wind. The marshes of the Cape are rich in texture, color, and pattern. This photo-walk is open to anyone over 18 years of age regardless of your level of photo expertise. You may choose whatever device is your favorite for recording images; from iPhones to sophisticated DSLR’s. Appropriate footwear for hiking over a variety of terrain, insect repellent and sunscreen is recommended.

Andy Howard is a native Cape Codder who has been making photographs for over fifty years. He is recently retired from Wheaton College, in Norton, Massachusetts where he taught photography and drawing for forty-three years as a Professor of Art. Andy has taught college courses in Ireland and has worked as a Photojournalist, an Archaeological Photographer and instructor, and in commercial photography.
