Kitchen Table Clay, with Holly Heaslip

Handbuilding is very a satisfying and versatile method of making functional pottery without a wheel! In this class we will learn some simple techniques to design and make our own dinnerware. We will make a dinner plate, salad/ dessert plate, bread plate, bowl, cup and saucer or mug. As class time allows you may be able to make additional pieces. There will be lots of room for personal expression through exploring different shapes of dinner ware (think “square plates”) and surface decoration. Suitable for those who have no experience or those who want to explore designing functional ware and refine their hand building skills.
