Finish your day with a spectacularly colorful sunset tour! Dusk is a great time to be on the water and learn about crepuscular wildlife, such as owls, fireflies, raccoons and deer! Join Mass Audubon naturalists on a guided kayak excursion amongst the marshes of Gray’s Beach or Sampson’s Island and see these ecosystems bathed in opulent oranges, romantic reds, pearlescent pinks and magnificent purples. This trip is intended for those with previous kayaking experience. Participants will be required to wear life vests. Kayaks, paddles, life vests and safety equipment are provided.

Instructions and Directions:
Required: Pre-registration is required. Previous (recent) kayaking experience and good swimming ability are required. Participants must be 16 years or older to participate and must accompanied by an adult. All participants must complete the attached waiver in the registration document and bring it with them to the program.

What to Bring: We provide an assortment of single and tandem kayaks, paddles and life jackets; all participants are required to wear life jackets. We recommend that you bring sunscreen, windbreaker, hat, water shoes, a snack and drinking water.

Directions: With a Barnstable parking permit you may park at Ropes Beach on the left in a 10-space municipal lot. Barnstable parking permit is required between Memorial Day and Labor Day. All others park on Putnam Ave next to the field. Take the Mid-Cape Highway (route 6) to Exit 5. From the Exit 5 ramp, turn right (south) onto Route 149. Follow Route 149 until you reach Route 28. Take a right onto Route 28. Take a left on Putnam Ave (at the first set of lights, there is a CVS store on the left). Proceed approx. 1.9 miles. Putnam Ave makes a sharp right at the intersection off Old Shore Road. Take the sharp right and park along the fence. (Vehicles with a Barnstable parking permit may park at Ropes Beach.) Walk back to Old Shore Road and walk down Old Shore Road approx. 1000 feet to Ropes Beach.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
In order to receive a refund, you must notify us of your cancellation at least 1 week before the program begins. If we cancel the program, you will receive a full refund. We reserve the right to change programs, schedules, and instructors, and to cancel programs due to low enrollment or unfavorable weather.
