Members: Adult $50.00, Child $50.00/ Nonmembers: Adult $60.00, Child $60.00

Join a Wellfleet Bay naturalist for a paddle around Mass Audubon’s Tern Island, a 28-acre island located just a stone’s throw from the shoreline of Chatham’s mainland and an excellent place to observe migratory shorebirds. The small group size on this trip allows for a more personalized birding experience. This trip will have a birding focus. Binoculars recommended.

Recent paddling experience and good swimming ability are required of all paddlers. All equipment is provided or participants may bring their own.

Instructions and Directions:
Pre-registration is required. Recent paddling experience and good swimming ability are required. To ensure the safety of all participants, the kayak trip leader reserves the right to deny further participation to paddlers who do not demonstrate adequate paddling ability. Directions to the meeting place will be given upon registration. Bring binoculars.

Please arrive on time for the start of the program. Note that the ending time for kayak trips is approximate. We make every effort to finish the trip by the ending time listed but because we are dealing with wind, tide and differing degrees of experience on the part of the participants, there is always the possibility that the trip will run longer than anticipated. For this reason, we suggest that you not count on the trip ending at the time listed and plan accordingly.

Participants may choose among available single kayaks or bring their own kayak. All equipment is provided; all participants must wear life jackets. We recommend that you bring sunscreen, windbreaker, hat, and drinking water. There are no facilities, such as restrooms or water fountains, at the meeting places.

Please note our cancellation policy: In order to receive a refund, you must notify us of your cancellation at least 7 days before the program begins. If we cancel the program, you will receive a full refund. We reserve the right to change programs, schedules, and instructors, and to cancel programs due to low enrollment or unfavorable weather.
