Get ready for the holidays choosing from two different projects.

Silhouettes date back to the 18th century and have been a simple and inexpensive method of portraiture.  Many examples of this can be seen in the NHA collections. Click here for an example.

Make a pair of Silhouettes Ornaments that has a new spin on this historic artform. We will be learning how to cut the delicate shape or portrait and use decorative papers for a collage effect.    Your ornaments will be finished with silver edging and ready to hang on your tree or in a window.  We will provide a variety of animal and object shapes but you can also bring your own picture of your favorite person or pet. Just be sure your photo is a profile and is less than 2.5″ in either direction.  Perfect as a gift or a gift to yourself.
