Three Thursdays beginning  July 11 from 10am-noon

Having skills in colored pencil drawing makes you more observant by being aware of color, values, shading, and form. This class will teach you basic to advanced techniques on how to build light layers to achieve a beautiful result. Drawing your favorite beach “treasures” will give you memories of your great summer days here on Cape Cod. Individual attention will be given as this is a small semi-private class setting. This class meets in the Fresh Paint Studio located on the upper level of the Education Wing.

Materials Needed:
Prismacolor pencils (starting colors): Cool Gray #90, French Gray # 10,20,30,50, Bronze, Celadon Green, Ultramarine Blue, Black Cherry.

Favorite rocks or shells. We will supply papers, erasers and pencil sharpeners.

JUDY COURNOYER
Jusy has lived and worked in Germany and Egypt, and has traveled in the Middle East, Africa, the Caribbean and the United States. Her travel experiences and lifelonf love of drawing have allowed her find pencils an ideal medium. She is a member of the Fresh Paint Artists located in the Educational Wing of the Cuktural Center of Cape Cod. Judy is a member of the Yarmouth Art Guild, the Cape Cod Museum of Art, and the Cape Cod Art Center at which she has won awards for her work. Always wanting to grow as an artist and probe that inner creativity, she has taken classes in oil, drawing, watercolor and sculpture. Jusy is thankful she lives on Cape Cod in Yarmouth Port with her husband Ron and thier gold cap conure  “Merly”.

CLAIRE MARCUS
Claire Marcus is an award winning Multi-talented Artist working in Watercolor, Monotype Printmaking, Mixed Media and Collage.

As a child with my mother, a talented artist, I explored galleries throughout the South Shore and Cape Cod each summer. I learned to love the Watercolors and Printmaking that the Cape was know for.

I attended Vesper George School of Art for 2 years, got a summer job in a large Boston Advertising Agency which continued on for 4 years.

I worked free-lance specializing in illustration, design and layout, was a photographic assistant, designed Silk Clothing and Jewelry, while taking classes at the DeCordova Museum of Art in Lincoln, MA in Pottery, watercolor in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston for 13 years and Mixed Media classes at the Lighthouse Gallery of Art in Tequesta, FL for 6 years.

I worked and taught Design and Clay (advanced) at The Pottery Shed for The Ceramic League of Palm Beaches, FL for 6 years.

I am a proud Signature Member of The New England Watercolor Society.

I have worked on the Boards of Cape Cod Art Association, Weston Arts and Crafts, The Ceramic League of The Palm Beaches, a Founding Member of Arts/Wayland, and the original Jurying Committee of Harbor your Arts, Hyannis, MA..

For 17 years I have been one of the Artist-Owners of Fresh Paint Gallery, Yarmouthport, MA and now Fresh Paint Artists Studio in the Educational Wing of the Cultural Center of Cape Cod.
