We will take a journey with drawing….and see where it takes us. Prepare to learn new, fun techniques with pencil, crayon and oil pastels!
Elaine Tata
Elaine studied fine art at Central Connecticut State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in art education and taught art in the Windsor, Connecticut public school system for ten years. During her summers, she returned to Provincetown to paint and took up residency in the “studio barn” at the Fine Arts Work Center. After studying and practicing both architecture and law, Elaine left these fields and moved to Cape Cod to paint full-time. She works primarily in oils, using cold wax medium to blur the lines, utilizing experimental approaches. Her work is focused on capturing the atmospheric energy and ever-changing light of Cape Cod, creating abstract landscapes, playing with the subtilties of value, color, chroma, temperature, and textures. She conducts classes and workshops, encouraging and supporting others to pursue their artistic pursuits, and find their creative spirit.
