This is an intermediate level class that will continue learning about functional forms and general shapes on the wheel. The main focus in this class will be surface design. The function and shape of a piece is only half of the process; finishing a piece with surface design makes the whole thing come together. We will go over many different techniques such as underglaze, carving, resist, inlay, and glaze combination. These skills will open up new ideas, and get the creative juices flowing for unique, functional items.
