This class will not only focus on how to establish a still life that has meaning for you and the world, but it may also save the world. Objects can do this, they can set into motion feelings of the universal, the connections we have with them show this and our understanding inevitably grows when one object is placed next to another. It is after all togetherness that will end war, so by making thoughtful art we may also inch closer to ending hunger while maintaining an earnest desire to create. That said, learning how to render form and use lighting will show how to make a convincing world in a still life. We will also attempt to learn how to capture ugly and wrap it in a warm glow. There is possibility behind an empty tin can, there is joy in a jar of jam, there can be anything if you only choose to set one thing next to another so that they get along.
