Wednesdays, November 1 & 8
10:00am – 1:00pm

The Cubist Movement saw artists George’s Braque and Pablo Picasso pasting angled bits of paper into their paintings. Kurt Schwitters, perhaps The Father of collage, attempting to make sense out of the aftermath of post WWII, gathered wrappers and clippings off the street, and composed his “Merz” collages.

This class will be for beginners to learn basic collage technique as we also create many of the papers to be integrated into collages. Scraping, spreading and texturing acrylic paints onto thin sheets of paper will form the ground, or first layer, as we then move into successive layers and build beautiful creations!
