By collaborating with Cape individuals, organizations, and local causes, our orchestra aims to highlight the unique history and people of Cape Cod while providing high quality, enriching, and memorable music for a small orchestra. Past season projects have included collaborations with Wild Care Cape Cod, the Harwich Guild of Artists, the Edward Gorey House, the Whydah Pirate Museum, and the Heritage Museums & Gardens. In 2020, the CCCO took home the 1st Prize in the American Prize Competition for Orchestral Performance. Recently named the “Best New Cultural Attraction” by Yankee Magazine, we believe the key to inspiring our audience is by infusing contemporary music with local Cape flavor, performing music by traditionally under-represented composers, and offering an intimate classical music experience. This afternoon’s program will include music for strings by composers George Enescu and Max Bruch and collaboration with Boston-based composer, percussionist, and producer Julian Loida, featuring his original music.
