This class will provide the opportunity to play with a variety of materials that can make watercolor fun and create very unexpected results. Working from imagination, memory and your own photos and sketches you will create original interpretations which will appeal to the senses and highlight visual elements of color, texture, and value. Direct watercolor painting, wet on wet and dry brush techniques will be demonstrated and practiced, knowledge of color, value and composition will also be addressed. Beginners are welcome.

This class meets in the Fresh Paint Studio located on the upper level of the Education Wing.

MATERIALS
Suggested materials: sketch book, spiral bound, 6×9 or 8×10 foam core board at least 24×36 masking tape paper towels, plastic containers or bucket for water, palette, John Pike or similar, with lid or cover, soft pencil, kneaded eraser, sponges paper 140 lb Arches. Cold press 22×30 3 sheets brushes: good quality #10 round, 1″ or 3/4″. Sable or sabelline and any other brushes you may have Paint: Cadmium Yellow, Burnt Sienna,  Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red Light, Ultra Marine Blue, Cerulean Blue,  Magenta, and Thalo blue.
