Events Martha's Daughter: Black New England, a Culinary History Dinner Thursday, Aug 27, 6-8pm. Member $85, Non-member $94 LENGTH : 2 hours FORMAT: Five-course seated dinner with historical storytelling and discussion. WHAT TO EXPECT : As a fifth-generation New Englander, Chef Nyanyika Banda grew up at the intersection of Black American culture and traditional New England cuisine. Inspired by family traditions—from her great-grandmother smoking littleneck clams in the backyard to baked fish topped with buttery cracker crumbs prepared by her grandmother—this dining experience explores the often-overlooked story of Black foodways in Massachusetts and Cape Cod. Through storytelling and a thoughtfully curated menu, guests will discover how African American traditions have shaped the culinary landscape of New England while enjoying dishes inspired by local seafood, seasonal produce, and historical recipes. This experience blends culinary history, personal storytelling, and contemporary cuisine to create a deeper understanding of the region's diverse food heritage. Events Tour the Gardens at the Museums on the Green this Summer – Multiple Dates The Falmouth Historical Society and the Falmouth Garden Club are pleased to provide the opportunity to tour the spectacular gardens at Falmouth Museums on the Green this summer! Take a walking tour of each of the five gardens in this beautiful location led by Falmouth Garden Club members. Tours on Tuesday or Saturday at 11am , allowing time to visit the buildings. The tour will last about 40 minutes . The newsletter currently reaches nearly 8,000+ email addresses. Events Music at the Atwood: Aubade Wind Trio Summer Concert Series: Aubade Wind Trio Where: Mural Barn, Atwood Museum (347 Stage Harbor, Rd., Chatham) When: Saturday, September 26th, 2026 – Concert begins 5:00 PM, Doors open 4:30 PM Aubade Wind Trio consists of three musicians playing the flute, oboe and clarinet. Each member of this trio highly accomplished and has decades of experience both locally and nationwide. Their trio formed in 2025 for a well-regarded and successful performance at the Cape Cod Museum of Art. They are thrilled to play for you at the Atwood Museum this Summer. About Aubade Wind Trio: Carl Gutkowski is a flutist with 30 years of experience. He has won the National Flute Association competition, placed in the Boulder Bach Festival's International Bach Competition, and performs regularly at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. The clarinetist is Monika Veress, who is very well known throughout Cape Cod. She won the Cape Symphony Concerto Competition a few years back, works as the Operations Manager for the Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival, and has performed extensively throughout the Cape and beyond. She always draws a big crowd wherever she performs. The oboist is Zachary Pulse, who makes his home in Beacon, NY, has his DMA degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and performs in the Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Q (Queens, NY), and the Caroga Arts Ensemble. We formed our trio last year and given our successful debut at the Cape Cod Museum of Art, and our pleasure working together, we're looking to book more engagements. Admission is $25 per person. Visiting a house museum is often the best way to learn about the lives of women, children or servants. We’ll take a step back in time and take a peek into their lives. This lecture is based on the speaker’s guidebook, Visit House Museums: Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard & Nantucket. Books will be available for purchase for $20, cash or Venmo.
