| $35 – $45Please join us for an exhilarating night of jazz under the tent with The Carlos Odria Trio. Consisting of Carlos Odria on guitar, Tom Lubelczyk on bass and Thomas Spears on drums, this trio is a high-energy acoustic ensemble that performs original compositions and arrangements of jazz standards and Latin American popular music. They deliver an exciting blend of international styles, including bossa nova, Afro-Peruvian festejo, rumba flamenca and cumbia with an improvisational approach inspired by the rich traditions of American jazz.
Peruvian-born guitarist Carlos Odria has been described as a “breathtakingly talented musician…with an immense technical skill” (Worcester Telegram). He holds a Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology from Florida State University, where he also obtained a Certificate in Music of the Americas. Currently he is an Assistant Professor of Music and Interdisciplinary Arts at the Visual and Performing Arts Department at Worcester State University.
