The unspoiled marshes of Bass Hole abound with wildlife and are home to a number of osprey poles. Learn all about this fantastic summer resident with Mass Audubon naturalists on a guided excursion through this wetland. You will visit the poles by kayak for a unique, waterside view, and track any updates on nesting, eggs and fledglings throughout the summer to add to a citizen science database tracking the animals. You’ll also learn more about saltmarsh ecology, oysters and aquaculture and local shorebirds. This trip is intended for those with previous kayaking experience. Participants will be required to wear life vests. Kayaks, paddles, life vests and safety equipment are provided.

Instructions and Directions:
Required: Pre-registration is required. Previous (recent) kayaking experience and good swimming ability are required.

Participants must be 16 years or older to participate and must accompanied by an adult.
All participants must complete the attached waiver in the registration document and bring it with them to the program.

What to Bring: We provide an assortment of single and tandem kayaks, paddles and life jackets; all participants are required to wear life jackets. We recommend that you bring sunscreen, windbreaker, hat, water shoes, a snack and drinking water.

Directions:
Meet at Public Parking area at Grays Beach, also known as Bass Hole. From US 6, take exit 7 (willow St). Turn onto Willow St north and follow till end. Take right onto Rt. 6A and follow 1.5 miles to Center Street. Follow Center Street 1.2 miles to the end. Park at large lot on right.

Cancellation:
In order to receive a refund, you must notify us of your cancellation at least 1 week before the program begins. If we cancel the program, you will receive a full refund. We reserve the right to change programs, schedules, and instructors, and to cancel programs due to low enrollment or unfavorable weather.
