Expressing Yourself: Acting 101

What if I told you that you’ve already discovered the secret weapon to a memorable performance? Drumroll, please. It’s…. YOU! You are unique, interesting, funny, and brilliant—all in your own way. In this lively acting workshop, we will explore not only the basics of acting technique, but also how to use your own personality and talents to make any character your own. That means if you feel shy on stage, as a group we will try to help you feel supported and comfortable; if you feel great up there already, we’ll endeavor to help you stretch yourself with perhaps a different kind of character than you’re used to playing. Throughout the day, we will play goofy theatre games, test out some improv, try on some scenes, and most of all, have a whole bunch of FUN! This class is geared toward the beginning actor, but all levels are welcome and encouraged to attend.
