Four Tuesdays, beginning November 5 from 10am-noon.
Fee: $140.00

Join Odin in a series of sessions that change their directive each month and are devoted to working in a smaller and more intensive learning environment, to improve specific artistic skills.

November’s Fearless Painter will be working on using tools of all shapes and sizes, including and especially their fingers and hands. If you watch an experienced painter work, often you may notice that they use a paint brush but will make a perfect smudge or dot with the tip of their finger or rippling lines and broad intentional smears with all fingers or the side of their hand.  You may notice a favorite stick or an old credit card they gravitate towards when they need a line etched into the painted surface in just the right way. Experience the freedom of using all kinds of unexpected tools, especially your fingers and hands to work paint into the surface of a canvas.  Painters will be doing a lot with just their hands, so bring gloves if you don’t wish to get too much paint on you.

Please be prepared with your own reference material, including some good photos, or a still life object to work from or work abstractly.  Students should bring any interesting “tools”, paints, brushes, all supplies and any size canvases you wish to use.

This class meets on the upper level of the Education Wing.
