The Provincetown Print: A PAAM Documentary by Amy Davies

Join us for The Provincetown Print, a captivating new documentary by Amy Davies from PAAM celebrating the origins, artistry, and enduring legacy of Provincetown’s distinctive white-line woodcut tradition.

“The Provincetown Print” tells the story of the creation of an American art form, the white-line woodblock print. At the beginning of WWI, a small group of expatriate artists returned to the United States and settled in the artist community of Provincetown, Massachusetts. Together, they developed the colorful white line printmaking process that is still practiced today.

Artists and Provincetown Print historians William Evaul and Kathryn Lee Smith appear in the film with PAAM CEO Christine McCarthy, artist Lennie Alickman, art historian James Bakker, and Blanche Lazzell expert Robert Bridges.

Local musician Anne Stott composed the score with an additional track by Jon Evans.
