WHAT TO EXPECT: Learn landscape painting with gouache in this 4-week landscape workshop for beginners. Unlike watercolor, gouache is a thicker water-based paint that offers bold opacity, layering, and easy corrections - the perfect medium for capturing light and atmosphere outdoors. Each week will develop your fundamentals through painting sky and cloud studies to color mixing, texture, and foliage. No experience necessary, with individual guidance for every student.

EXTRAS: All materials are provided, but students are welcome to bring their own supplies if they have them.

DON'T FORGET: Dress to make art. This class is in the Journey Studio upstairs in the Education Wing.

INSTRUCTOR: Dylan Griffin is a life-long Cape resident and artist, He graduated from Lesley University College of Art & Design with a BFA, Department of Illustration in 2015 and continued his studies at the Concept Design Academy in California from 2018-2019. Since then he has participated in a number of collaborative exhibitions both locally and on the west coast. His personal body of work features an assembly of original environment designs with a focus on nostalgia and our companionship with nature. Dylan works in his sketchbook every day, cherishes the drafting process, and is always looking forward to future creative endeavors.
