WHAT TO EXPECT: In this class, artist Neil Grant will teach you a method for creating sculptures that simplifies the sculpting process and makes it both engaging and fun. It doesn’t matter whether the sculpture is a person, an animal, an inanimate object, or a work of your imagination; Neil will teach you how to see your subject as a simplified set of shapes that you can combine together and then refine through a series of steps into a final piece.

No experience is needed, just a desire to learn and to create.

EXTRAS: Students get 12 hours of Open Studio time to practice what they are learning.

DON'T FORGET: Bring an apron and tie long hair back. Tools will be provided, but students are welcome to bring their own preferred ones if they have them. This class is held in the Hilliard Handbuilding Studio on the lower level of the Education Wing.

INSTRUCTOR: Neil Grant is a working Cape Cod artist who produces sculptures in ceramic, resin, and bronze. He is a national award winner and is represented by Bowersock Gallery in Provincetown.
