Join Julie Wake, Executive Director of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, and Curtis Speer, artist and CUSP gallery owner based in Newport, RI, in a discussion led by curator, Leeann Ream about what makes and sustains a vibrant arts community. As Executive Director of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, Julie Wake oversees programs supporting individual artists and arts institutions across the Cape. Curtis Speer moved from Provincetown to Newport, noted the difference in community support of the arts between the two communities, and is now working to cultivate support for the arts in Newport. The conversation offers a broad perspective on the arts in the region and the impact of a strong arts community on the wider community.
