The Cape Cod Museum Trail is proud to highlight a museum from time to time to our followers. Especially during this time, it is important to know what museums are doing and who is open.

Today we want to let you know about Toad Hall Classic Sports Car Museum at the Simmons Homestead Inn. This is a unique museum amongst our Cape Museums. Toad Hall is in Hyannis Port. There is a collection of dozens of cars. The museum started as a hobby and small collection of a few sports cars in a shed behind Simmons Homestead Inn.

Over the years, more cars were collected, more sheds were built, and a car museum was created. The sheds have been connected to allow easy visitation between the three dozen cars in the sheds as well as the cars that are located outside. In total, there are over 50 cars.

The one characteristic of all the cars is they are red. Most of the cars are English. The cars are restored, registered and can be driven. The museum is now one of the largest collections of Sports Cars in the US. It is a car lovers dream place to visit.

The name of the museum comes from the movie The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame. The main character was Toad and all his cars were red. This continues at Toad Hall Classic Sports Car Museum.

The museum is the private collection of Bill Putnam and he is happy to share it with the public. All are welcome. Tickets are $8 per adult and children $8 per adult, children 10 – 16 are half price. The museum is open daily from 11:00am – 5:00pm. This is a good place to bring the family, be able to social distance and see over 30 beautiful cars. Cameras are welcome and if you behave yourself, you may be able to sit in a car for a photo.

Feel free to see the collection here. Feel free to call at 508-778-4934 or email them at ToadHallCars@aol.com for more information.
