Join Marcus Hendricks on a guided walk of Wing Island in Brewster MA
Marcus Hendricks is an indigenous professional who provides education on the history and traditions of his cultural heritage as well as creates and distributes handmade Wampum jewelry, traditional indigenous items, and culturally sustainable foods.

On the Wing Island walk Marcus will discuss the pre-contact period of native American life, indigenous history and culture of the Wampanoag “People of the First Light.”

The trails on Wing Island feature many geographical dimensions of the Cape from forest to salt marsh and mudflats. Named after colonial settler John Wing, the island’s adjacent salt marsh provided a rich environment for both Native Americans and European settlers. The bay waters teemed with fish, and the woods were filled with plants and animals.
