Come join an in-depth exploration of a unique segment of the Victorian decorative arts. During the 19th century, an obsession with the natural world developed which has never been surpassed. Victorians created beautiful presentations of nature from taxidermy, seashells, wax flowers and fruit, and even created art made with human hair, preserved under glass domes.

John Whitenight, while always a passionate collector of Victoriana, began collecting glass domes in 1973. He has been researching the “why and wherefore of these lovely domed items” ever since and has authored the book Under Glass: A Victorian Obsession. He currently owns 175 domed displays.
