This is a 6-week class; Mondays, June 19 – July 24
10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Sitting at a loom and weaving with colorful yarns can be a delightful experience.  Getting to the weaving part can be confusing, frustrating, and overwhelming!  In this class we will break down all the steps and try to make sense of the how the warp and weft come together in harmony.  Instruction will cover all the steps necessary to set up a multi-harness loom. This includes planning a project, preparing and winding the warp, dressing the loom, and beginning to weave. Basic and classic weave structures will be introduced, and students will be encouraged to explore different weaving techniques.

Students who have a knowledge of weaving will be encouraged to plan their own personal projects in this class. The studio has collected several weaving patterns that can be explored and adapted for individual use. Emphasis will be placed on becoming more independent with the process of setting up the loom and exploring the joys of weaving.
