The Perfectionist: Life and Death in Haute Cuisine
February 24 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
A riveting behind-the-scenes look at the world of three-star French haute cuisine as revealed through the biography of one of France’s most celebrated chefs, The Perfectionist is an unforgettable portrait of Bernard Loiseau, and the sophisticated, unforgiving world of French gastronomy.
This is the most riveting book I have read about the culinary world. The inner demons that he fought regarding his reputation and restaurants status made me read the first 100 pages 5 times before I could finish the rest. We will dine on his recipes of Ris de Veau roti avec pommes purée et truffles noir, Coquilles St Jacques au jus de persil eat purée de carrot, Confit de veau epaule avec sauce au foie gras and finish with a Fromage trolley. Tonight we toast with Burgundy.
