This class will cover the basics of herbal medicine and incorporating herbs into your daily life. We will go over the properties of herbs and learn how to extract their medicine in different ways. From teas, infusions, decoctions, tinctures, syrups, topical applications, and body care products we will delve into the internal and external preparations of each and the correct way to put it into practice. We will then get hands on and make an elderberry tincture for you to take home. This class meets in the Owl Hall on the main level of the Education Wing.  Tickets: $50.00.

AMY NEILL
Amy Neill began her artistic career as a photographer where she studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. With the Museum Schools open and transparent self-study process Amy also concentrated on painting, stained glass, mixed media, and film. She holds a certificate in Interior Design from Rhode Island School of Design and a certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from Tufts University. Her work has hung at the Griffin Museum of Photography, the 1650 Gallery, the Darkroom Gallery, and the 33 Contemporary Gallery, among others and held in public and private collections throughout the country.

Her wellness journey began on the yoga mat in 2000, since then she has studied meditation, Ayurveda, reiki, and herbal medicine. She is certified in herbal medicine, as a reiki master practitioner, and RYT-200 training in yoga.

Amy combines her expertise in wellness, art, and leadership through teaching and coaching artists of all levels. Since 2010 she has guided individuals to find and strengthen their own unique creative voice as a one-on-one consultant. Currently, Amy is the Director of Education at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod in South Yarmouth, MA. Her work there consists of educational outreach, arts administration, cultural affairs, programming, and arts advocacy.
