SARSAT: Satellites to the Rescue

Satellites have helped save over fifty thousand lives since the COSPAS-SARSAT program’s first credited rescue in 1982.  In a continuation of the Marconi-RCA Wireless Museum’s “Radio to the Rescue” event theme, representatives from U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington D.C. and the U.S. Coast Guard Rescue Coordination Center in Boston will provide attendees with an overview of the system, how it works, and how distress beacon owners can help ensure a speedy recovery with just a few simple steps.
