Learn drypoint, one of the most direct printmaking techniques, combined with monoprint and Chine collé, an elegant method of adding colored papers to your prints. We will draw lines directly on our Plexiglas plates with a pointed stylus to create the image. Using Japanese rice paper and found papers, as well as painterly techniques of monoprinting, we’ll add color and texture to our prints. You will learn how to print a small edition of your work, and the proper method of labeling prints. You may bring line drawings with you to the first class, but we will also work on sketches during class time.

For beginner to advanced — no previous experience required! All materials provided.
$30 lab fee payable directly to the instructor. Please bring a brown-bag lunch.

Optional additional materials to bring to class:
Sketchbook and pencil
Additional plexiglas or copper etching plate
