This series of slide talks will explore the shift from Modern to Contemporary Art from approximately 1950 to the present day. The five weekly lectures will act as a time line to investigate Modern Art and how it transitioned to define the Contemporary.  A presentation of innovations, shifts, and trends of late 20^th to early 21^st Century Art will give the artist and art lover a better understanding of recent art history.  Significant American and international artists will be presented with a diverse approach emphasizing multicultural, queer, women, and artists of color. Each slide talk will be approximately 40 minutes followed by a discussion period for questions and comments.
