Knot Tying and Signal Flags

The Cape Cod Maritime Museum Young Mariner Program is excited to bring some maritime and seamanship activities to the library. Attend for a fun filled morning at the South Yarmouth  Library.

• Knot Tying: Try your hand at tying some knots, like the handy bowline or the twisty monkey’s fist. Bonus points if you can tie the bowline with your eyes closed!
• Signal Flags: Back before we had radios or morse code, sailors communicated through signal flags. Many are still used today. But dive deeper with us and learn how sailors use to communicate through these flags. Make your own message and try to decode our secret message!

​Appropriate for ages 5 and up.  Space is limited. Registration is required.
