“Loved the beaches, hated the food.” It’s a common complaint made by people returning home after an island vacation. To help those who are desperate to love both we will begin a series featuring different island foods. We will do 4 different islands a night and continue till we cover most of the world’s islands. If I make it till the end, I will be thrilled to have lived that long!! Tonight to kick it off we will dine on Horta from Crete (steamed wild greens seasoned with extra virgin and grilled lemon), from our back yard a Nantucket bay scallop ceviche, Ischia will give us coniglio all’ Ischitana (roast rabbit) and finish with pears with ginger, juniper berries, aquavit and caraway cream from Svalbard. We will be matching the foods with local wines and spirits of the islands.

This class meets on the main level in the Education Wing.

MATERIALS
Our cooking classes are held in our commercial kitchen. You will be seated at a counter on countertop stools, so please wear comfortable clothing. Layers are best, the temperature fluctuates often.
