This workshop introduces acting with the hand/glove, rod, and tabletop puppets. Participants will learn how puppets are built and study the various ways the actor/puppeteer brings them to life! Together we will explore principles of puppet manipulation and expression through exercises and activities.  We will learn the basics of improvisation, scenes and character development, text interpretation, principles of cooperation and stage presence. All in a gentle, friendly, and enjoyable format that employs games and supportive guidance.

This workshop is for children ages 10 and up, as well as parents and grandparents, teachers, artists, art therapists, actors, and anyone who finds playing, acting, performing with puppets find enjoyable and creative.

This class meets in the Makers Space and Mentor Studio on the lower level of the Education Wing.  Tickets: $20.00 Member/$25.00 Non-Member
