This private garden, designed by renowned urban planner and founder of The Townscape Institute, Ronald Lee Fleming, is located behind his historic home on Bellevue Avenue in Newport, RI. It consists of a series of “garden rooms,” each featuring an architectural “folly.”

Years in the making, this garden is very personal and unique. Mr. Fleming will personally guide us through this delightful experience, explaining his reasoning behind each of the wonderful “follies.”

After our tour, we are invited into the library of this grand residence, which was designed by famous New England architect, Ogden Codman, Jr., for his cousin, Martha Codman. The house, completed in 1910, adheres to the axioms of interior design laid out in the famous manual, “The Decorations of Houses,” coauthored by Codman and Edith Wharton.
