In this course, students will learn how the effects of color—their shape, value, temperature, size, and intensity—all work to create a visual impact. This class will explore vibratory color, how one color placed against another produces a vibration, and the various contrasts: warm against cool, dark against light, and neutral against bright. Subject matter will alternate between the figure and still life. As students develop their own color sense, they will produce studies for larger works.
