Figure Drawing as Expression: A Zoom Art Class with a Model and Creative Empowerment

Each of the five sessions will begin with looking at works from PAAM’s collection, or at each other’s art, as prompts for the material being presented that day. We start with gesture drawings, then move on to evolving exercises based in the Hofmann tradition of abstracting the figure while working from nature. Artists can create drawings, paintings, mixed media collage or sculpture.
The emphasis in the course, limited to nine people, is to make a body of work and develop, or refine, a unique visual language and the confidence that comes with acceptance of your true artist self. For someone who wants to dive into a practice head on, or someone who wants to experience connection with other artists, or someone who is ready to see themselves as new. All levels of art knowledge welcome.
