Sound familiar? This is the class for you! Join this fun and unintimidating class for beginners of any level with artist Kristin Ranney and learn to love this beautiful medium. Studies have shown that you can add 7.5 YEARS to your life just by taking an art class! Give it a try! Kristin will guide you step-by-step with in-depth instruction and lots of one-on-one support — you’ll find this medium is not as hard as you thought, it DOES let you make mistakes, and you totally CAN paint in watercolor. No experience necessary, but if you have dabbled in watercolor and want to add some new tips and tricks to your painting toolbox, come on in!

Art supplies are not inexpensive, but Jerrysartarama.com or CheapJoesartstuff.com often have the best prices. And Michael’s is good and always has a coupon. At this writing, Jerry’s Artarama has a great deal for a pretty complete set of watercolor items: Marie’s Master Watercolor set for $73.49.
Paper: 8×10 Arches watercolor pad (140# Cold Press)
Paint: to start, bring small tubes of the following colors:
Hooker’s Green
French Ultramarine Blue
Cobalt Violet
Alizarin Crimson
New Gamboge Yellow
Quinacridone Sienna
Burnt Sienna
I have a lot of tubes of various other colors that I’ll bring for you to try out.
If you have trouble finding these colors, I’ll be bringing paints and can help you.
Brushes: two round brushes with points – a #10 and a #4. And if possible, a large flat 2″ brush and a small #6 scrubber brush. I’ll also bring extra brushes if you have trouble finding these.
Other stuff: a large plastic rectangular or round palette,1 jar or container for water, a roll of paper towels, and some Kleenex. Dress to make art.
Kristin Ranney is a national award-winning watercolor artist living on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She was introduced to painting with watercolors after her stepmother took her to a workshop in 1992. Kristin discovered her passion for the medium and has
continued working and growing her artistic style, attending workshops with many international watercolor artists including Mel Stabin, Barbara Nechis, Frank Francese, Pat Weaver, and Susan Webb Tregay. Her work has been shown in exhibitions from Maine to Idaho
and is in international collections. Kristin was invited to be a Board Member of the Transparent Watercolor Society and served as the Marketing/PR co-chair for 5 years. She has won awards in national juried shows and is a Signature Member of the Catherine
Lorillard Wolfe Art Club of New York and the New England Watercolor Society.
