This course is beginners as well as advanced student. Students will be drawing from life as well as from photo references. Drawing is a skill that can be learned. Through easy exercises, students will learn basic drawing skills of perspective, sighting, shading, and construction. This course is taught in an unconventional way. Through experimentation and exploration with new media, participants will find there is no limit to mark making and the range of tools that can be used. The final goal is to encourage students to draw freely, even with a brush, and explore their own interests. Throughout the course, the subject of drawing, its historical and aesthetic significance, will be covered. Feel free to bring to class any previous artwork you have done to share and discuss in class.
