Since the Cultural Center opened the Simoneau Culinary Arts Center, Mike Almonte has tended the herb garden that provides fresh ingredients for many of the chef’s fabulous meals. This dinner is therefore a tribute to and thank-you for Mike’s hard work. Mike Almonte has lived on Cape Cod for over 60 years. He received both a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice Management from Western New England College. He served the Town of Yarmouth for 34 years as a police officer, attaining the rank of Chief of Police before retiring. A member of the Master Gardener Association of Cape Cod since 2011, Mike has enjoyed gardening for over 30 years. He lectures on various gardening topics, enjoys cooking, and has taken many adult education classes in the culinary arts.

Tonight’s dinner will start with Mike’s Amuse Bouche tasting followed by seafood sausage with a thyme butter sauce, Coq au Vin with an herbed red wine sauce, baby vegetables and parsleyed noodles, and herb crusted cheeses. Complimentary French bubbles will be served. Please bring your own additional refreshments.

This dinner will be held in the Owl Hall on the main level of the Education Wing.
